Catherine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling, and is registered with the Australian Counselling Association. Prior to working as a counsellor, Catherine had a long career in the arts sector – working with artists to set up exhibitions, running art galleries, and doing her own paintings. Catherine’s time in this sector gave her a first-hand experience of the emotional impact of art – she would witness frequently the way people were moved by particular pieces and would describe how their heart was touched by certain artists. This background has helped foster a great empathy and ability to nurture people’s emotional experiences. She proceeds gently when assisting people to open up, aware of the power these emotions have on us. She also has a long-standing meditation practice, which enables her to remain centred in the presence when working with clients.
